I suppose it was only a matter of time, seeing as they already run our state government.
Why do I live in this state again? Oh yeah, this is why:

It's just an attempt to have the jurybox more accurately mimic the background population....ooof.
Damn beautiful place...

A wild Deadpedal appears! Haven't seen you around here in a while (right? or am I just not very observant?).
...and you appear to be grey. Looks like we need a mod to stop by and bequeath you with some authorship privileges.

I regret that I have but one "recommend" to give to this comment.

Just move to San Diego, JW. Half the state of Zonilandia is here every summer, anyway ... you'd feel right at home :)

DONE!

Yeah, I swear half of Tucson moves there for the summer. I could probably conduct more face-to-face business there than here right now. My boss even just bought a place there, and has been telecommuting for the last three months.

And if I'm not allowed to bring my guidefish Bubbles to help me cross the roads, our annual fall Sedona trip in right out !

Welp, now both J. McCain and J. Flake will finally receive jury-duty notifications.

yeah, I've been away doing deadpedal stuff. Glad you folks are still going strong. I like what you've done with the place.

Don't tell me you're not excited for Cowboy Day though.

True Story: Here in Tucson, the local schools get something called Rodeo Break - two days off from school in February during our annual rodeo. Which maybe wouldn't be so out of the ordinary for some small podunk little town, but there are over 1 million people in the Tucson metro area!

As a second generation native, I have it on good authority that this is a carry over from the days when attendance would have been only "city boys" who weren't either helping with the rodeo and/or there to support their family who were part of the rodeo. Attendance would have been terrible back then. Now it's just tradition.

Yeah, I think it just comes down to being too hard to take away vacation time once people get used to it. I don't know anyone that actually goes to the rodeo, but I am confident that there would be outrage if they tried to cancel the break.

so California want to let non-citizens do jury duty AKA they can't even vote for laws now they get to sit in judgment of a person of a country they can abandon at the drop of a hat if they get in trouble —- aka make a run for the border and gooooodbyyyyyy

I totally agree with those pics and just returned from near you. Went to Kartchner Cavers. Impressive to say the least. Was going to return by going up US191N to US60. When I got to the exit, it was obviously raining like hell to the north. Stayed on I-10 and only had to ride 80-100 miles thru rain. Gotta love Monsoon accompanied by a hurricane in the gulf. All in all, a great trip to your state. Where are those falls?

That would be Havasu Falls, one of few waterfalls in Grand Canyon. Ja , we've been there before and it was beautiful but sizzling hot.

Yeah, Zorro got it right - Havasu Falls. They are on the Havasupai indian reservation (along with a whole host of other gorgeous falls and pools just like that). I haven't been there, but it is definitely on my list. I work with a guy that is married to a Havasupai, and, from what he tells me, it is a pretty incredible place.
Glad to hear you liked Kartchner. I bet the drive down there was gorgeous - everything is so green right now with all the rain we have been getting!

It was like a whole different place. Have not seen the desert so green in a long time. And "lakes" everywhere.
